Primary School Teacher

Plans and teaches a full curriculum to primary-aged students, building literacy, numeracy, and curiosity. Assesses progress, manages the classroom, and works with whānau and support staff. A registered qualification is required for this role in NZ. The role demands creativity, patience, and the ability to manage a busy classroom while meeting curriculum requirements. A teaching qualification and registration with the Teaching Council of New Zealand are required for the role. The role rewards people who build relationships as much as they teach lessons. Experienced teachers move into syndicate leadership, specialist teaching, or principalship with development and support.
